Compare the same starting nails and the same desired result. Ask both salons to state removal, preparation, colour, added length, design quantity and payment conditions. A per-nail price, a colour-change price and a full-set package are different units; compare the final agreed scope rather than the headline number.

Make one brief for both providers
Send the same current photo, reference design, desired length and number of art nails. If the two salons receive different requests, different prices do not tell you which offers better value for the same service. Keep the date and group size consistent too.
Read the units
Look for “per nail”, “per set”, “from” and package descriptions. A starting price is not necessarily a final quote for your design. Ask which conditions would change the number and which menu items are already included, so you do not accidentally count them twice.
Use a comparison checklist
For each reply, note preparation, existing-product removal, length or structure, colour, art quantity, estimated duration, branch and payment conditions. Mark unanswered items as “not confirmed”, rather than treating them as free or included.
Make uncertainty visible
A salon may need an in-person assessment before confirming work on an existing set. That is an unresolved quote, not automatically a bad one. Ask what can be confirmed now and what might change after assessment. Decide whether that uncertainty fits your budget and schedule.
Agree changes before work
If you switch the shape, length, design or product at the appointment, ask whether price and duration change. Keep the updated agreement clear. A useful comparison ends with a service you understand, not simply a provider described as “best” without a stated criterion.
Questions before you book
Does a “from” price cover my reference design?
Not necessarily. Ask what the starting price covers and what your specific design adds.
Can I compare per-nail art with a full design package?
Only after matching the number of art nails and confirming what else the package includes.
Is the lowest quote always the best option?
The useful comparison is the complete service, confirmed details and fit with your plans. Price alone does not establish those.
